Ready, Steady, Go with Caber Coffee

Published on: Nov 7, 2023

Aberdeen-based Caber Coffee has announced a significant expansion of its portfolio which will see it reach more customers than ever before.

Inspired by the nation’s love of coffee to go but disheartened by the pervading lack of quality provided by many self-service retail machines, Caber Coffee Managing Director Findlay Leask embarked upon a journey to bring the quality the company is known for to the cups of those enjoying a hot drink on the move.

The creation of Caber Coffee To Go also enables vendors to maintain margins by removing the need to purchase traditionally expensive branded consumables – and the units can even be branded to customer requirements or connected to a card reader for the full self-service experience.

The move rounds off a year in which Caber Coffee bucked the trend of rising costs in support of the hospitality sector, taking the bold decision to stir things up and pass on decreases in wholesale prices.  From coffee beans to disposable items, and from syrups to sugars the company brought in sweeping changes to help bolster some of its catering and hospitality sector customers facing rising costs.

Commenting on the new machines, Findlay explained: “I knew that, in the Egro Next, we had a machine that could resolve the quality and speed issue while easily coping with hundreds of large take-away coffees every day, but we didn’t have a unit to place it in and, traditionally, customers have built their own shelves to house these brilliant machines.

“We needed to build something bespoke, something we could easily replicate, something that could be delivered to a customer’s site with minimal need for them to design or deliver an exciting space.

“Working with Nick Wilson at Technik Design, we came up with a unit that ticks all the boxes and can adjusted to meet customer requirements in terms of colour, finish and so on.  It can now be ordered along with the machine, carrying our own instantly recognisable and trusted branding or our customer’s own brand.  We also supply all the consumables and offer a guaranteed 24hr service response for any technical issues.”

Technik Design Managing Director Nick Wilson added: We worked closely with Findlay and the Caber Coffee team to ensure that the unit was designed and laid out in the best possible way.  It was initially created in 3D software which allowed us to optimise layout and sizing, and to provide high resolution visuals of what the completed unit would look like.

“We are pleased with the result, and we wish Findlay and the team every success with the product. I would also like to thank Findlay for putting his trust in us in allowing us to design and produce the unit.”
